Contrary to popular belief, dating doesn’t always equate to a high expenditure – well, unless you guys are the sort that makes it a point to have a lavish meal every night or constantly feed off your boyfriends (We pity you, guys!), or when you are celebrating my important occasion (That’s understandable!). If you don’t  know, there are actually countless of activities you can get involved in Singapore that you do not have to spend a single cent on.

For those who are still thinking of what to do this weekend, here are a few interesting ideas you can consider under $10 – some even for free!

Cycling at East Coast Park
Cycling at East Coast Park doesn’t cost more than $10, and you can easily rent a bicycle at around $7 for 3 hours. Why not take it as an opportunity to sweat it out and also explore the East side as a couple? You can even cycle all the way to Changi Village and then indulge in some of your favourite hawker delights!

Picnic at Henderson Waves
Though the journey up can be quite a pain, we promise you that this will be an experience which you will not want to miss out on. Together with your other halves, you can gather your lunch essentials and head up there for an afternoon. However, we would recommend you not to stay there till too late as it can get pretty dark at night!

Cook together
Another dating idea which can be done at the comforts of your home. There’s nothing better to bond a couple better than cooking together, or even better – learning how to cook together. Who knows? Either one of you might be Masterchefs in the making!

Macritchie Tree Top Walk
If you are intending to go on a hike in Singapore, you can consider taking the Macritchie trail – we heard that the road leading up to the Tree Top Walk can span as long as 3-4km, and that the whole journey should be around 6-7km! Its a great chance to get fit together and then you guys can even go for a wholesome meal after that!

Visit Pulau Ubin / the Southern Islands
If you can keen on venturing out of Singapore but are already sick of Batam, why not give Pulau Ubin or the Sister Islands a visit? There, you can embark on a ferry tour at around S$18 per pax for a two-way trip (We know it’s slightly more expensive but it’ll be worth it!) and you will be able to visit St. John’  Island, Kusu Island and even walk over to the coveted Lazarus Island – think white clean sands and lalang fields!
