The last time I went to West Coast Park was in primary school because we had to pick up litter for Community Involvement Project (CIP) hours. I had a fun time at the playground, but have not been there again for the past 7 years. Those of you who have yet to visit WCP, this article will convince you to.
Playgrounds for all ages

The best part of the park is the Adventure Playground although WCP is home to 8 playgrounds. The Adventure Playground has things for people of all ages, even for the adults. Couples on a date can come an test out their climbing skills. Well that or show off to the ladies how strong you men are.
Ideal kite-flying spot

The Grand Lawn is perfect for picnics and families to lounge around and let the kids fly their kites. Doesn’t the lawn look expansive? Best of all, it isn’t covered by trees unlike in ECP.
Huge sandpit
Although WCP is nothing like ECP, the sand-filled playgrounds and pits will make up for it. Perfect for sand-castle building!
Boardwalks

You don’t have to go to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve to admire swampy waters and cruise along the board walk. If you’re lucky you might spot some wild life. Great for kids to go on an adventure!
Bicycle Obstacle Course

For the older people, you can try out the obstacle course meant for cyclists. There are meandering roads and bumpy humps – great if you want to out your balancing skills to test!
Sheltered Carpark
Carpark 1 boasts about being sheltered by lush green trees, so you don’t have to worry too much about getting your car heated up. You might have to worry about bird droppings though.
Open-to-Public Dog Run

Not only is the park family friendly, it’s canine friendly too! The dog run is a wide open space that is opened to the public. Dogs will have to be leashed though.
It’s less crowded
As compared to other parks. You won’t have to worry about accidentally bumping into a child or a dog. Also it’s quieter, for those who really need a peace of mind.
It’s easily accessible by public transport
Unlike East Coast, WCP is easily accessible. Bus 176 stops directly in front of West Coast Park.
There’s McDonalds
Okay, there’s McDonald’s everywhere but who doesn’t need McDonald’s after a long day of play? Replenish yourself after a fun-filled day at WCP!
