In Bali, their traditional costumes are often called pakaian adat Bali. These ethnic clothing are just lovely. For women, usually the set comes with a lace kebaya top and a kamen ( which is like a type of sarong), as well as a sash called the umpal. For men, there are two layers of fabrics worn from the waist down, called the kamen and saput. Men also have a headdress known as the udeng.

The most affordable places to get traditional clothing are in the local wet markets, as for example the market at Ubud or at Denpasar. You can find them at shopping malls too, but it can be a tad bit pricey. At the market, one set can be bought for about $40- $60, which is really affordable.

Now you can own a piece of these handmade wonders from Bali’s many art markets and at the famous Mas Village, near Ubud.
